Favours – Edible favour ideas

Favours aren’t a necessity at a wedding, and I have been to a fair few where the standard bags of sugared almonds have been left on the tables. However I think that if you provide your guests with something they would actually like to eat (does anyone even like sugared almonds?) then your chances of them being taken home increase tenfold. I would love to be a guest at a wedding where we were given any of these:

Oh wow bloody wow! Mini gumball machines – these are such a cute idea!

Brown paper bags filled with fruit – would make a lovely decorative feature on the tables too – double duty at a rustic wedding 🙂

Candy apples! These remind me of bonfire nights, cold winter evenings and being a kid wearing stripy scarves and tights!

Lots of people have sweety buffets – these double up as perfect favours if you put out some paper candy bags.

My personal favourite: Jam! I love jam – on toast, with scones, sometimes sneakily by itself with a little dip of the finger *shush gross habit* and would probably steal other peoples little pots of jam if I were a guest at this do 🙂

Red and White sweety table

Wow! Saw these images over on greenweddingshoes.com and just had to share! How awesome is this sweety table?

I am loving the vivid red and white colour scheme – not to mention the fun retro feel 🙂 A-Dor-Able!

I’m loving the blackboard, the funky striped tablecloth and the coca-cola glass bottles – inspiration overload right here!

Ps: who fancies a strawberry tart after seeing this? Yum!

Literature Love

It always, in my opinion, makes for a better wedding when you can really see the personalities of the bride and groom come across. Generic weddings can be ever so slightly boring, and so when it comes to finding inspiration for our own wedding we are looking for it in our everyday lives. One thing that Mr.P.S and I have in common is that we both love to read – from magazines to classics, gothic romances to Comic books, chick lit to horror and everything in between!

As such one of the things that we have decided to incorporate into our wedding is our love of literature and so, a little bit of googling later, I came across these gorgeous literature themed centrepieces on www.stylemepretty.com, and I knew exactly how we would do it…

How gorgeous are these images? I love the way the books are stacked up, almost as though left there mid-read, and they make such a statement.

The scrabble letters are another fantastic idea – a nod to my dad’s love of scrabble perhaps? Simply gorgeous!
